Our House System

Tring School’s House system provides a wide range of opportunities for students to participate in social activities, charity work and an ever increasing number of inter-house competitions.  Most of these carry points which, along with achievement points lead to an annual presentation for the winning House.

Tring School operates a vertical tutoring system and new students will be placed in mixed age tutor groups. KS3 tutor groups include students from Years 7, 8 and 9 and KS4/5 tutor groups include students from Years 10, 11, 12 and 13.  Each tutor group is designated to one of our four Houses – Ascott, Claydon, Halton and Waddesdon, named after local stately homes.

House Leaders

Our vibrant House system is at the centre of our school culture.  Led by enthusiastic House Leaders, we champion a spirit of fun, belonging, and healthy competition.  Students enjoy expanded opportunities to get involved, showcase their talents, and take ownership of their school community.  Working alongside Form Tutors, our House Leaders ensure every student’s efforts are recognised, their unique strengths are celebrated, and their voice is heard.

Form Tutors

As the foundational pillar of our pastoral care, Form Tutors are the primary point of contact for both students and parents and carers.  They play a vital role in monitoring individual wellbeing and driving high standards of attendance and punctuality.  As the daily champion for every student in their tutor group, tutors regularly celebrate progress, offer early guidance, and build a proactive partnership with parents and carers.

Most pastoral matters will be managed and resolved through the tutor team, ensuring students receive timely and consistent support.  Should you need to contact the school with any questions or concerns, please contact your child's Form Tutor in the first instance (initialsurname@tring.school).
