Carnegie Book Award 2016 – Celebration and Winner Announcement – 20th June 2016

The students and staff in the Carnegie shadowing group in school have spent the last couple of months reading and reviewing the 8 books shortlisted for the prestigious Carnegie Book Award 2016.   On Monday we held a celebration in the LRC  for students and staff in the group.  We watched the live announcement of the winner, ran a fiercely contested quiz, prizes were handed out and thanks given to everyone for their commitment to being part of our shadowing group over the past few weeks.   It was a great way to celebrate and the group were delighted that One by Sarah Crossan was the winning book.  We are looking forward to Monday 27th June, it is our turn to host the Dacorum celebration of the Carnegie Book Award.  We will be joined by 5 schools and the Eve Ainsworth author of Crush and 7 Days will be with us throughout the day running creative writing workshops and talking to the students about her books.
