Our Christian Vision

Tring School welcomes students from families of all faiths and of no faith.  We are a Church of England school and our Christian Vision and Values underpin all that we do.

Tring School is within the diocese of St Albans and within Tring we are attached to the church of St Peter and St Paul.  We also have close affiliations with the other churches in the town and work with their clergy but it is through St Peter and St Paul that our Chaplaincy is funded and provided for the students and staff at Tring School.  The school attends services at the church of St Peter and St Paul at Christmas and Easter and the clergy come into school to lead collective worship regularly for our community.

At Tring School, pursuing excellence in education means valuing not only academic success, but also the development of character, compassion and a strong sense of community.

Our Christian Vision

We have many gifts and are stronger together in the most excellent way

1 Corinthians 1:12

At the heart of everything we do is a simple belief: every person is uniquely gifted and has something valuable to contribute.

Inspired by 1 Corinthians 12:4-6, we celebrate the strengths, talents and qualities within our community.  By growing together in service, kindness and understanding, we enable everyone to.

As a Church of England school, our vision shapes how we learn, how we care for one another and how we live together each day.  We believe flourishing is about far more than academic success; it is about developing confidence, character, compassion and a sense of purpose.

Guided by Wisdom, rooted in Hope and strengthened through Community, we encourage every child and adult to grow, contribute and thrive.

Rooted in Scripture

Our vision is inspired by the words of St Paul:

“There are different kinds of gifts, but the same Spirit distributes them. There are different kinds of service, but the same Lord.  There are different kinds of working, but in all of them and in everyone it is the same God at work….together in the most excellent way"      1 Corinthians 12:4–6

This passage reminds us that although we all have different gifts and experiences, we belong to one community with a shared purpose.  Every individual is valued, and every contribution matters.

Whether a person’s strengths lie in academics, creativity, leadership, kindness or perseverance, each gift enriches the life of our school and the wider world.

Living Our Vision

Alongside high standards of achievement, we are committed to developing the whole person.

Through our vision and values, we nurture:

  • Confident Learners through Wisdom
  • Ambitious Individuals through Hope
  • Responsible Citizens through Community

All relationships within our school are underpinned by dignity and respect.  We encourage students to reflect on how their words and actions affect others, recognising the importance of compassion, responsibility and service in everyday life.

As a Church of England school, we warmly welcome people of all faiths and none.  We celebrate diversity and seek to create a culture where everyone feels valued, supported and able to thrive.
