Formerly the school hall, the LRC was opened in 2006. This open space holds a fantastic range of books, has dedicated reading areas as well as three computer suites and is able to accommodate approximately 200 students.
The Learning Resource Centre also provides a focal point for showcasing students’ learning achievements through regular displays and small exhibitions.
Students are invited to attend supervised homework support sessions in the LRC after school on Monday, Tuesday & Wednesday 3:20 pm – 4:20 pm.
All students are welcome to use the LRC before school, break, lunch-time and after school to complete their homework.
Sixth Form Study Area
The sixth formers have a study area in the LRC for quiet study throughout the school day when they are not in lessons.
Computers are provided for the use of sixth formers and Key Stage 5 fiction and non-fiction books are also situated in this area together with AS & A2 coursework books.
Computers are available for students to use before and after school and during break and lunchtime for research, study and homework only.
Students are reminded that playing computer games is not permitted in the Learning Resource Centre and that the viewing of videos or listening to music via the on-line music stations is permitted for educational purposes only.
On-line safety is the child protection priority for the 21st century.
All students are expected to adhere to the school’s E-Safety Policy for on-line safety.
