Charity week update

We are delighted that this year, Charity week was such a success. As a team we were thrilled with the level of student participation in the weeks leading up to the main event, as well during the week with house events taking place between the 26th and 30th of January. We would like to personally thank all of the house captains, staff, local businesses who contributed prizes for our raffle and of course parents and students for donating any loose change they had for our fantastic charities: “Great Ormond Street Hospital” and “Cardiac Risk in the Young”.

As you may be aware, we held a environmentally-friendly balloon race where students, parents, staff and local businesses could purchase balloons with the hope of winning the race in order to win fantastic prizes. We have since been receiving countless emails and letters from members of the public who found our balloons. Destinations such as Kent, Southern France, Belgium, Austria and Germany were just some of the areas where our balloons were found. Also, we held a raffle during the Friends of Tring School quiz night which was very well received and raised a significant figure towards our total, so thank you to all who attended and bought raffle tickets.

Thanks to all of the support we received, we managed to raise an estimated £6500 which will be shared between our two great causes. This is the highest amount of money the school has ever raised from Charity Week, surpassing last year’s total by over £1000!

Again many thanks to all who were involved in Charity Week 2015 and for making it such a success.
