A team of budding Year 9 Engineers are currently spending their Saturday mornings attending the Engineering master classes at Frogmore Paper Mill. The most recent session involved a talk by David Jazani, a lecturer in construction and energy conservation from the University of Bedfordshire. The event culminated with pupils designing, making and load testing bridges using just lollipop sticks, cocktail sticks and wine gums!
The session was one of a series of lectures organised by the Royal Institution to show just how rewarding, exciting and far reaching Engineering is in our world today. Upcoming topics will include “Sustainable Energy Sources” and “The relationship between Earthquakes and Building Design”.
