On Friday 22 May we celebrated the Class of 2015 with our annual Leavers’ Day.
The Leavers’ Day celebrations have evolved over the last few years and it is certainly a very memorable and emotional day for everyone. It is a real opportunity to celebrate such fantastic students and to reflect on their time at Tring School.
The day started with the Leavers’ Assembly: we had photos of the students when they joined Tring School and how they look now, then 100s of slides with subject teacher awards, House awards and other nominations! The Sixth Form Team certainly enjoyed awarding a few of their own prizes to students who have made us proud (or made us laugh!) over the last two years. The assembly finished with a slide show set to music of pictures from over the years which certainly brought back a lot of good memories.
The students then went on to get ‘glammed’ up ready for the night ahead, which started with The Champagne Reception for students, parents and teachers. It is always lovely to see the students looking so beautiful and grown up and it’s lovely to also get to celebrate with their parents. This year also saw the end of an era with Mrs Golla moving on from her role as Head of Sixth Form – a presentation was made to Mrs Golla by the students to thank her for all she’s done not only during their time in the Sixth Form but throughout her seven years in the role.
After the speeches, two double decker buses arrived to take the students to Hatfield House, The Riding School for their May Ball. The committee have certainly worked incredibly hard this year to make The Ball the perfect end to a day of celebrations so rightly deserved by our students.
We would like to congratulate our Year 13 Students for their exceptional behaviour and for their contributions to Tring School. They have been a real pleasure to work with and we are sad to see them go.
